Our story
Born on these trails, built for the world.
Okere Tourism Hub is the official gateway to the attractions of the Okere District — run by the people who call these mountains home.
01 · The beginning
A story that starts with a waterfall
For generations, the people of Okere guided curious travellers to Asenema’s falls out of pure pride in their home. In 2018, those informal guides came together with the district assembly and traditional leaders to create something bigger.
Today, Okere Tourism Hub coordinates access to all the district’s attractions, trains and certifies every guide, maintains the trails, and channels tourism revenue back into the communities that protect these landscapes.
02 · Why we exist

Our Vision
To make Okere the leading eco-tourism destination in West Africa — a place where conservation, culture and adventure thrive together.

04 · Sustainability
Tourism that gives more than it takes
Every ticket you buy is an investment in the landscape you came to see.
Forest Protection
A share of every entrance fee funds reforestation and anti-logging patrols around our waterfalls' watersheds.
Community Investment
Tourism revenue supports local schools, clean-water projects and youth guide apprenticeships across the district.
Leave No Trace
Plastic-free picnic areas, carry-in/carry-out policies and visitor caps on sensitive trails keep Okere pristine.
